Kathryn Stella Uba's Obituary
Kathryn S. Uba, age 93 of Georgetown, DE, passed away on Monday, March 2, 2020 in the comfort of her home, surrounded by relatives. She was born on October 17, 1926 in Stowe, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Edward and Anna Paul. Kathryn spent the majority of her life in Royersford, PA, where she still has many family members.
Kathryn worked at Spring City Knitting for many years before retiring to Southern Delaware in 1987. She was a devout Phillies fan, watching every game she could with family. While a quiet woman, Kathryn was known for her jokes and her nightly ‘happy hour’ glass of wine. She was a master cook, famous for her ‘potato noodles’ and pierogis. Kathryn loved all animals, having many dogs and cats over the years, and she had a green thumb, tending to gardens and flowers. Above all, Kathryn cherished time spent with those she held most dear. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Kathryn was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Vincent Uba in 2004. She is survived by her children: Patricia Warren (Douglas) of Malvern, PA and Thomas Uba (Barb) of Lewes, DE; her grandchildren: Amanda Warren (Matthew Frangipane), Carly Uba, and Shannon Gamble; her sister in law, Lorraine Rega; and her many nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in Kathryn’s memory to the Brandywine Valley SPCA, 22918 DuPont Boulevard, Georgetown DE 19947.
