Kathleen J. Lorelli's Obituary
Kathleen J. Lorelli age 71, of Lewes, DE, formerly of New Castle, DE, passed away peacefully with her loving family at her bedside on Friday, January 9, 2015, at Beebe Healthcare, in Lewes, DE. She fought a long and courageous 10 year battle against Lymphoma. She was born on October 14, 1943 in Johnstown, PA, daughter of the late John and Olive Dominy Hughes. She was also predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law Judy and Ron Merritt.
A beloved wife, mother, mom-mom, sister and aunt, she will be greatly missed by family and many friends in Delaware.
Kathy was a gifted seamstress, enjoyed painting with oils and water colors and had a wonderful eye for decorating. She was an avid player of word games, especially Words With Friends on her Kindle. She and Bill enjoyed many trips to Europe in their younger years, and recently enjoyed 3 winters in their home in Arizona. However, the most joy in her life was the time she spent with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, William F. Lorelli, one son, Bill Lorelli Jr. and wife Holly of Exton, PA, and one daughter Lisa Phillips of Rehoboth Beach, DE; her siblings, Jack Hughes and wife Sue of Montrose, Colorado, Rick Hughes and wife Toni of Chandler, Arizona, Sharon Harding and husband Gregg of Cumberland, MD, and Kevin Hughes and wife Lisa of St. Clairsville, Ohio; and five grandchildren, Katelyn Revell, Megan Phillips, Jillian Phillips, Matthew Lorelli and Nicholas Lorelli.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2015, at 11:00 AM at the Bethel United Methodist Church, 129 W. 4th Street, Lewes, DE where friends may visit one hour prior to services at the church.
Burial will follow the services at the Bethel Methodist Cemetery, Savannah Road, Lewes, DE.
