Kathleen Elizabeth Lane-Ball's Obituary
Kathleen Elizabeth Lane-Ball, 77, passed away on March 16, 2026, in Seaford, Delaware. Born on February 26, 1949, in County Sligo, Ireland, she carried the warmth of her Irish roots with her throughout her life.
Kathleen loved music and dancing, especially country music and traditional Irish songs. She also enjoyed spending time at the YMCA swimming with her friends laughing and enjoying life.
Her Irish heritage led her to welcome everyone into her family whether you were a family member, an old friend or a new friend. She shared a loving marriage with her husband, Daniel Everet Ball. She was a devoted mother to Michael David Lane and his wife Elizabeth, Daniel Patrick Lane, and Amy Metcalf-Limacher and her son Max. Her brother James McGowan, his wife Suzanne in England. Nephews Paul McGowan, James McGowan and his wife Sam, and two children. Her Sister Diana Reiman and husband Doug. Charlie Novak, Anne’s husband. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Katelyn Emily Lane and Courtney Katherine Lane, who brought her endless joy.
Kathleen also loved her job and was passionate about helping people connect. Her kindness and fun-loving personality left a lasting impression with people. She had a natural way of making others feel comfortable and cared for.
She will be deeply missed by her husband, her children, her grandchildren, her previous husband, and many dear friends. The love she gave so freely will live on in all of them.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents, James and Mary McGowan, sister Ann Novak, and her nephew Stavros Georgiou.
She will be remembered for her kindness, her warmth, and the love she shared so generously.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at Mary Mother of Peace Catholic Church, 30839 Mount Joy Road, Millsboro, DE 19966. A viewing will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the church.
A chapel committal service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE 19966.
