Kathleen T. Cooper's Obituary
Kathleen T. Cooper, age 66, of Rehoboth Beach, DE passed away at home on Friday, November 28, 2014 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born on August 6, 1948 in Milford, DE, daughter of the late Wallace P. and June E. Townsend.
Mrs. Cooper graduated from Georgetown High School in 1966. Following her graduation, she attended Beebe School of Nursing and would later work and retire from Beebe Medical Center as a registered nurse.
Mrs. Cooper enjoyed spending time with her Class of '66 girls (formerly known as Red Hats group) and attending monthly luncheon meetings with her Jeaters club. She was a talented knitter who made numerous hats and blankets which she donated to the local hospitals for newborns and cancer patients as well as for family and friends. Mrs. Cooper enjoyed taking various bus trips and sightseeing tours with her husband Russell by her side. Most importantly, Mrs. Cooper loved to worship God. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cooper was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Townsend and her grandparents: Olive Johnson Townsend, Walter Pierson Townsend, Edith Glanding Maharty and Charles Wesley Glanding. She is survived by her loving husband of 31 years, Russell L. Cooper of Rehoboth Beach, DE; two daughters, Kelly Davis and her husband Mac of Denton, MD and Colby Moremen and her husband Ian of Winterville, GA; a son, Casey Cooper of Dover DE; a brother, Pete Townsend of Georgetown, DE; and four grandchildren: Aaron, Will, Emma and Levi.
A Celebration of Mrs. Cooper’s Life will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Wesley United Methodist Church, 102 E Laurel Street, Georgetown, DE 19947. Interment will be private.
Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Cooper’s memory to Beebe Health Campus Suite 101, 18947, John J. Williams Highway, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971.
