Karen Ann Blancke's Obituary
Karen A. Blancke, age 64, of Rehoboth Beach, DE passed away suddenly on Monday, February 7, 2011. Mrs. Blancke was born March 10, 1946 in Cleveland, OH, daughter of the late Ernest and Elizabeth Banyas and the beloved wife of Rudolph Charles Blancke, IV for 41 years.
She graduated from Howard High School in Howard County, MD in 1964 where she was a cheerleader and art editor of the Howard Shield yearbook. After attending Strayer Business College, she worked for the Carnation Company for a number of years.
She had a passion for reading, cooking, sewing, arts & crafts. Karen enjoyed golfing, gardening and was a soccer, tennis and brownie Mom. She was fortunate to have traveled all over the world with her husband Rudy. Karen especially enjoyed shopping for her beloved husband, daughters and grandchildren. Karen was an active member of Rehoboth Beach Country Club and belonged to Kings Creek Country Club.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Kimberly D. Holbrook and her husband, Joshua of Holly, MI and Kelley S. Boza and her husband Todd of Elmhurst, IL, three grandchildren, Dylan and Logan Holbrook, Isabella Boza.
A Memorial Service will be held at All Saints Episcopal Church, 18 Olive Avenue, Rehoboth Beach, DE, on Saturday, February 12, 2011, at 11:00 am, with Father Max Wolf officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to the Thomas Jefferson Foundation for Neuroscience, 925 Chestnut Street, Suite 110, Philadelphia, PA 19107 or to the Beebe Medical Center for the Neurology/Stroke Service Program,
