June Jacobs' Obituary
June Jacobs, age 87, of Lewes, DE passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 22, 2012, at Beebe Medical Center, in Lewes. She was born Thursday, June 12, 1924 in Monroe, LA, daughter of the Frank Madison and Sally Ada (Edwards) Parker.
Mrs. Jacobs enjoyed a long career as an Administrative Assistant working for the Consumer Product Safety Commission in Washington, DC. In addition to working full-time outside the home, Mrs. Jacobs was first and foremost the Matriarch of the family; she always embraced her family and friends. She was a voracious reader and loved expanding her horizons through books. She also enjoyed big band music and swing dancing with her husband of 67 years; she adored Frank Sinatra.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jacobs was preceded in death by her brother Frank Parker and her sister Ossi Norman. She is survived by her beloved husband Robert P. Jacobs; two daughters both of Lewes: Martha Stabler and Marilyn Rightsell and her husband Chris; two grandchildren: Brian Rightsell of Lewes and Andrea Rightsell and her companion Josh Osher of Charlottesville, VA; two great-grandchildren: Haven and Marias of Charlottesville; and a niece Sally Miller of Mobile, AL.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, February 27, 2012, at 11:00 AM, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE. Friends may call at the funeral home beginning at 10:30 AM. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made in Mrs. Jacobs' name to the Beebe Medical Foundation, 902 Savannah Road, Lewes, DE 19958.
