Julia A. Brittingham's Obituary
Julia A. Brittingham, age 73, of Rehoboth Beach, DE, passed away peacefully at her residence on Sunday, October 9, 2011 with her family by her side. She was born in Washington, DC, daughter of the late Joseph Matthews and Mary Miller Matthews.
She was a member of St. Edmond Catholic Church where she served as a Eucharistic Minister. Going to the beach, ocean cruising and spending time with her grandchildren were her favorite things to do. Also, the devotion of her standard Poodle "SAM" was an important part of her life.
She is survived by her son Larry Brittingham and wife Chrissy of Smyrna; a daughter Jill Jefferson and husband Jay of Rehoboth Beach, DE; grandchildren Gavin Lee Jefferson, Taylor Jefferson and Emmy Brittingham; and a brother; and four sisters. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Phillip G. Brittingham (2008) and a brother.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at 11:00 AM, at St. Edmond Catholic Church, 409 King Charles Avenue, Rehoboth Beach, DE. Interment was private.
