Judith Faye Bezner's Obituary
Judith Faye Bezner (Messick), 83 of Lewes DE, completed her earthly journey and peacefully transitioned to her next great adventure on November 19, 2022. She at last has reunited with her daughter, Karen Duko and grandson, Joshua Gallagher.
Judy was born March 10, 1939, in Chester, PA. Soon after graduating from Chester High School, she started her family and had three beautiful daughters. There was never a dull moment when raising girls alone, and through every hurdle, Judy demonstrated tremendous wit, spunk, determination, and resilience. You can see that all these same attributes have been carried down generations. In 1984, she obtained her cosmetology license and remained a hair stylist until retirement.
After her grandson’s untimely passing, she was baptized into the Catholic Church and volunteered at AI DuPont Children’s Hospital, entertaining the children as Jo-Bo the Clown. During that time, she would also make appearances at her grandchildren’s schools and local community events. After some time, Judy packed up her clown shoes and moved to Lewes, DE in the late 1990s.
Judy enjoyed writing children’s stories and poems. She was always meant be centerstage, as her jokes, rhymes and theatrics garnered attention from all around. Judy had a special relationship with every single one of her grandchildren and would be present for all their special moments, always in their corners. She loved her family above all else and could not have been prouder of all their accomplishments.
Never one to back down and always one to give the most memorable laughs, Judy will be incredibly missed by her daughters: Jayne Chiappetta and Judy Duko; her son-in-law, Michael Chiappetta; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; her brother, Tom Messick and his wife, Diane; and many extended family and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at 11:00 AM, at St. Jude the Apostle Church, 152 Tulip Drive, Lewes, DE. Interment will be private.
