Jude W. Daly Seamone's Obituary
Jude Daly Seamone, age 89 of Lewes, DE, formerly of Silver Spring, MD, passed away on May 11, 2022, at The Moorings at Lewes. She was born on September 10, 1932, in Washington, DC, daughter of the late John B. and Mary Etta Whelan.
Mrs. Daly Seamone was a caregiver for the entirety of her life. She found her calling in attending to the needs of others, whether it be her spouses, her children, her church, or the many members of her community. Mrs. Daly Seamone worked for Our Lady of Good Counsel High School in Silver Spring, MD and in the Georgetown University Theology Department. She was a dedicated volunteer for Delaware Hospice, the St. Vincent DePaul Society, and was a Eucharistic Minister at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church in Lewes.
Mrs. Daly Seamone was a loving and devoted mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Loved by many, she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Daly Seamone was preceded in death by her dear first husband of 38 years, Charles “Charlie” P. Daly Sr; her son, Michael J. Daly, MD; her infant daughter, Mary Eloise Daly; and her sisters: Mary Catherine Justice (Bernie) and Honora "Sweetsie" Armentrout (Gus). She is survived by her beloved husband of 25 years, Woodrow “Woody” Seamone and his family; her children: Kathleen Hirsch (Jeff), Charles P. Daly, Jr. (Cheri), Timothy J. Daly (Peg), Christopher M. Daly, Patrick W. Daly (Joan), and Kevin V. Daly (Teresa); her son-in-law, Erich Cirilano; her fourteen grandchildren; her thirteen great-grandchildren; her brother, John "Jack" Whelan (Ann); and her sister, Patricia Miller (Shorty).
A memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at 10:30 AM, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 15663 Norbeck Boulevard, Silver Spring, MD, where friends may visit beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to St. Edmond Church, St. Vincent DePaul Society, PO Box 646, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971.
