I've known Mrs Smith since grade school. She was one of my teachers at Lewes Christian Academy. She was always one of my favorite teachers. Always so sweet, and encouraging. My deepest sympathies to Rachel and the family. We lost a great lady.
I met Joyce at Stockley Center as the secretary for our Day Program. We became friends and I enjoyed her company. We lost touch over the years after retirement but will remember her as the nicest lady who had the best smile. Every time I see a Dr. Pepper, I will remember her as this was her favorite beverage. She always sent me cards and she never forgot my bday@
She would call and say"Wake up little Rosebud!"
I remember going to Delaware one summer and Joyce Ann and me sitting outside enjoying the evening. And someone took a picture of us. Gonna miss her
Joyce and I went on trip, she didn't care for the room at the hotel, so here we went to the front desk, she was chewing the clerk out, well we got to the car and I said Joyce you were getting on the dest clerk and I am standing there with a Christian t-shirt on,so at the next hotel she went to complain and she told me that" me and my christian t- shirt had better just stay in the car!", I have told alot of people that story, she and I talked about that right before she passed.
