Joseph "Joe" W. Lipski's Obituary
Joseph “Joe” W. Lipski, age 68 of Lewes, DE passed away suddenly on Tuesday, October 19 2010 at his residence. He was born September 3, 1942 in Newark, NJ son of the late Jozef S. and Wladyslawa (Wojciechowski) Lipski.
Mr. Lipski served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War prior to a 35 year career with Local 52 & 164 International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers; he retired in 1999. He was a member of St. Matthias Roman Catholic Church, Somerset, NJ, Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Irvington, NJ, and American Legion Post 28, Millsboro, DE. Mr. Lipski was an avid boater and loved to go charter fishing with his boys, he enjoyed golfing, baseball, and carpentry work around the home. He was a loving husband, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend but most of all a dedicated father who never missed a blink with his children.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Lipski was preceded in death by his sister Dr. Janet Lipski. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Elaine E. (Greenberg) Lipski; three sons: Joseph S. Lipski and wife Alyssa of Cranbury, NJ, Michael J. Lipski of Toms River, NJ, Richard A. Lipski and wife Chenoa of Bloomsbury, NJ; sister, Lottie Murawski of Schenectady, NY; and four grandchildren: Taylor, Richard, Angelica, and Whitney Lee.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday October 22, 2010, 9:00 AM at St. Matthias Roman Catholic Church, 168 John F. Kennedy Boulevard, Somerset, NJ 08873. Friends may call at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Hwy, Lewes, DE 19958 on Wednesday October 20, 6:00 PM-8:00 PM. Additional calling hours will be at Gleason Funeral Home, 1360 Hamilton Street, Somerset, NJ 08873, at the following times: Thursday October 21, 2:00 PM-4:00 PM, 7:00 PM-9:00 PM, and Friday October 22, 8:00 AM-8:45 AM. Interment will follow Mass at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, NJ.
