Joseph "Joe" Vincent Gugliuzza's Obituary
Joseph “Joe” Vincent Gugliuzza, age 87, of Lewes, DE, passed away on Saturday, June 14, 2014, at Beebe Healthcare, Lewes, DE. He was born in Derby CT, on March 25, 1927, son of the late Joseph V. and Florence (Scarpa) Gugliuzza.
Mr. Gugliuzza was a veteran who proudly served in the United States Army. Joe attended the Bullard-Havens Technical School in Bridgeport, CT concentrating his studies on publication and printing. He spent his career in the printing industry as a production manager, for many years with several companies, always enjoying his work and the friendships he cultivated during his career.
He was an avid woodworker, golfer, and enjoyed spending great times with his family. He was also a Scout Master for nearly twenty years. Joe was a familiar face to his friends in his community. His real passion was his wife “Peggy” whom he married on December, 27, 1952. For Peggy “every day with Joe was like Christmas, it may not have been the right size or color, but it all had meaning at the end of the day.”
Mr. Gugliuzza is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Margaret “Peggy” (Duley) Gugliuzza; beloved three sons: Mark Gugliuzza and wife Katherine; Douglas Gugliuzza; Bruce Gugliuzza and wife Melanie; a daughter Peggy Ramsey and husband Tom; a brother Robert Gugliuzza; a daughter-in-law Kathleen Gugliuzza; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and many other family members.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Hwy Lewes, DE, where friends may visit on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Interment will follow the funeral services at 2:00 PM on Wednesday at Henlopen Memorial Park, Milton, DE.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Gugliuzza‘s memory to MERR Institute, Inc., 801 Pilottown Road, Lewes, DE 19958
