Joseph M. Stracinski's Obituary
Joseph M. Stracinski, age 86 of Lewes, Delaware, passed away on Saturday December 1, 2012 at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, DE. Mr. Stracinski was born on Jan. 26, 1926 in Phil. PA, son of the late Isadore and Antoinette Sumainska Stracinski. In addition to his parents he was also predeceased by a sister Jane Geordano.
He had worked for 24 years in maintenance for a convalescent center in Darby, PA before his retirement to Delaware where he began his second career working part-time at the Food Lion on Delaware RT 1 for 22 years.
Fishing everyday if possible and meeting and talking to people were his favorite pastimes. He was a member of St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church in Lewes; Order of the Redmen in Lewes; the VFW Post 7447 in Rehoboth Beach, DE; and the Lewes Senior Center.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-one years Frances Gawronski Stracinski; two sons, Joseph Stracinski of Newark, DE and Thomas Stracinski of Roslyn, PA; a sister, Dorothy Persing of Boothwyn, PA; three grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday December 4, 2012 at 11:00 AM at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, Tulip Drive, Lewes, DE where viewing will begin at 10:00 AM. Burial with military honors will follow at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro, DE.
