Joseph Orlando's Obituary
Joseph Orlando of Millsboro, Delaware, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, passed away suddenly on Monday, March 18th, at the age of 81. He is survived by his son Eric, daughter-in-law Debbie, and adored grandchildren, Brianna and Savannah. He is also survived by his sister, Marie Simon and numerous nieces and nephews.
Joseph was born to Nicholas and Jennie Orlando and was one of fifteen siblings. He grew up surrounded by the love of his large family.
Joseph was a gentle soul with a heart of gold, known for his hardworking nature and his unwavering willingness to help others. His kindness touched the lives of many in his community, and he was well-known and respected by all who knew him.
Joseph proudly served his country in the Army, demonstrating courage, dedication, and a commitment to protecting the freedoms we hold dear. His service was a testament to his bravery and patriotism, and he continued to carry those values with him throughout his life.
Joseph was known for his work ethic and commitment. In his professional life, Joseph retired from General Motors after years of dedicated service. However, retirement didn't slow him down. He continued to work, showcasing his strong work ethic and diligently until the day he passed away. He continued to contribute his skills and knowledge long after retirement, demonstrating his passion for excellence and his desire to stay engaged in his community.
Passionate about sports, Joseph was an avid fan of the Eagles and the Phillies, cheering for his teams with fervor and dedication. He found joy in sharing his love for sports with his friends and family. Joseph was an avid bowler, finding joy and satisfaction in the precision and skill of the sport. His dedication to bowling culminated in a perfect game, achieving the elusive feat of bowling a 300.
In his leisure time, Joseph enjoyed spending time at Dover Downs, where he relished the excitement of the atmosphere and the thrill of the games. He also treasured moments spent with his girlfriend Marie, her family, and his friends, cherishing every opportunity to create new memories together.
The family wishes to extend heartfelt for the outpouring of love and support during this time.
