Joseph M. Lukaszewski's Obituary
Joseph "Joe" Marion Lukaszewski, age 88, of Georgetown, DE, passed away at home on Thursday, January 26, 2023.He was born on January 23, 1935, in Stamford, CT, son of the late Alexander and Angela (Bzonkiewicz) Lukaszewski.
Joe was a proud veteran, having honorably served in the US Air Force for 4 years. He worked for many years for FLYGT ITT in the shipping department. A man of strong faith, Joe attended regularly church services. For several years, he was a member of the Professional Bowlers Association (PBA), with which he participated successfully in tournaments throughout the country. Joe had many interests and hobbies, including collecting coins, and taking his dog to read to children at local schools and libraries, an activity he most enjoyed. He could often be found watching the UCONN girls’ basketball games, always cheering for his favorite team. Above everything else, Joe loved his family and time spent with them. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and friend. Loved by all who knew him, he will be forever missed.
Joe is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Mary Riley Lukaszewski of Georgetown, DE; his daughter, Laureen Lukaszewski of Derby, CT; and his beloved Airedale Terrier, "Annie".
A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 10, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Dodd-Carey Chapel, 307 North Bedford Street, Georgetown, DE, where friends may call beginning at 10:30 AM. Burial will be private.
