Joseph A. Lofink's Obituary
Joseph "Joe” A. Lofink, age 78 of Rehoboth Beach, DE passed away after battling leukemia on Thursday, November 17, 2022, at Beebe Healthcare, in Lewes, DE. He was born on April 29, 1944, in Wilmington, DE, son of the late Willard and Anne (Donohue) Lofink.
Joe graduated Salesianum High School in Wilmington, DE. He proudly served in the Marine Corps Reserve. Joe married the love of his life, Joan Lofink on February 4, 1967, in Wilmington, DE, and together they enjoyed 55 years of marriage. He built a lifelong career with the USPS working as a postal clerk, retiring after many dedicated years.
Joe had many interests and hobbies. He loved fishing, golfing, and was a sports enthusiast. Above all, Joe treasured time spent with those who meant the most to him. His grandchildren and great grandchildren were the light of his life, and he was fondly called by them "Pop Pop / Big Pop Pop". Joe was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was loved by many, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Joe is survived by his beloved wife, Joan (Guida) Lofink; his children: Joseph A. Lofink Jr. (Mary), and Cindy Shughart; his grandchildren: Danielle, Kathleen, and Jennifer Lofink, and Jeff (Melissa), Jake, and Jimmy Shughart; as well as his great grandchildren: Norah and Layla Shughart.
Services will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE. Visitation will begin at 2:00 PM followed by a memorial service at 3:00 PM.
