Joseph "Stacy" J. Anastasi's Obituary
Joseph "Stacy" J. Anastasi, age 90, of Lewes, DE passed away on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at Harbor Health Care & Rehabilitation Center in Lewes, DE. He was born on June 23, 1924 in Philadelphia, PA, son of the late Guiseppi and Theresa (Piriano) Anastasi.
Mr. Anastasi served proudly in the US Army from 1943 to 1946. Following his honorable discharge, he embarked on a lifelong career with Domino Sugar Refinery as a mechanic, retiring in 1983 after 37 dedicated years of service. Mr. Anastasi was a long time member of the Church of Incarnation in Mantua, NJ. He was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and Philadelphia Eagles. He also enjoyed bowling, woodworking and playing cards. Most importantly, Mr. Anastasi was a loving and devoted family man whose life revolved around his family.
Mr. Anastasi is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Marie Anastasi, his son, Joseph J. Anastasi and his wife Kelli of Sewell, NJ; his two daughters, Joanne Brownwood of San Diego, CA and Marian Fischer and her husband Ed of Medford, NJ; his brother, James Anastasi and his wife Lola of Broomall, PA; his brother-in-law, Bernard Pajrowski of Punta Gorda, FL; five grandchildren: Shanna Capewell and her husband Joshua of Pemberton, NJ, Stacy Nyugen and her husband David of San Diego, CA, Nicole Chmielewski and her fiancé Devon Jarvis of Las Vegas, NV, Alli Anastasi and fiancé Michael Serafinelli of Sewell, NJ and Paige Anastasi of Sewell, NJ; three great-grandchildren: Maddie Capewell of Pemberton, NJ, Ethan Capewell of Pemberton, NJ and Ryder Nyugen of San Diego, CA and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 15, 2014 at 11:30 AM at Mary Mother of Peace Catholic Church, 30839 Mount Joy Road, Millsboro, DE, where friends may call beginning at 10:30 AM. Interment with military honors will follow Mass at 1:00 PM at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE.
