Joseph Robert Graybeal's Obituary
Joseph Robert Graybeal, age 88, of Millsboro, DE passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 11, 2018, at Harbor Health Care & Rehabilitation Center in Lewes, DE. He was born on Thursday, July 25, 1929 in West Grove, PA, son of the late Joseph and Lillian Graybeal.
As a young man, out of school, Mr. Graybeal honorably served his country in the United States Navy for 4 years. Following his Honorable discharge, he went to work as a Railroad Conductor for the Pennsylvania Railroad, later known as Amtrak Conrail. He would retire after 37 dedicated years and could finally live full time at the beach. In his free time, Mr. Graybeal enjoyed tending to his garden and traveling across the country. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and dear friend who will be missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Graybeal was preceded in death by his loving wife Dorothy. He is survived by his daughter, Scherrie L. Barry and her husband William of Georgetown, DE; his step-daughter, Diane Betts and her husband John of Rehoboth Beach, DE; his step-son, Raymond Shaw and his wife Sharon of Wilmington, DE; his five grandchildren: Brian Barry, Peter Barry, Ryan Betts, Amy Shaw and Billy Shaw; his five great grandchildren: Nathan, Nolan, Kelsey, Leah and Ricky; his sisters, Betty Lattomus and Irene Barbieri; and his best friend of over twenty years, Lucille Vitulli.
