When cousin Jon got out of the service, he and cousin Robert Chittenden came to stay at our house for several days while trying to decide the next step to take. It was very strange to have young men in the house as I never had a brother. Jon was always considerate and polite. See you in Heaven, cousin Jon.

I remember so well the hours and days I spent at the ranch with the entire beautiful family. Jon consistently beat me in cribbage! I still have a cribbage board that he hand made that I will always treasure.
One time we were out in the field helping Jon cut down a lot of hay. It was a good time being together.
I remember playing cribbage all night with Jon and Maida in their kitchen. Always a good time. Awesome man and tough but fair.
I'll never forget my visits to the ranch during the summers, I love you Uncle John
