Sending prayers to your family.
John Wsare was indeed a beloved figure at Jake's, the "Cheers" of Rehoboth Beach, for many many years of Friday night Happy Hour with our favorite singer Jimmy Bones (before JB moved to Florida). As fellow transplanted Washingtonians, we enjoyed sharing memories of the old days in D.C., of the infuriating up-and-down Redskins (mostly down) and the lately hot Washington Nationals, and the fun life on the correct side of the Bay Bridge with new friends and experiences especially at "our" Jake's. We were there when John & Mickey renewed their vows at a lovely ceremony for their 50th wedding anniversary. John was a kind man with a good heart and enthusiastic personality, always glad to see his friends, and a man totally devoted to his Mickey. Rest in peace, dear John, and sympathy to Mickey, Linda, and the rest of the loving Ware family.
~Mary Alice & John Martus, friends from Jake's and fellow Jimmy Bones fans

From the time I met John and Mickey to the time he left us I can honestly say every minute was good. They were the first to visit me after the Florida move. His last words were "I love you, Jimmy boy". We spoke frequently and talked of the Nationals and our beloved Redskins. I'll never forget you, John. Your memory will be carried on in the hearts of so many. There will always be a special place in mine for the wonderfully kind way you lived and treated me. Thanks, John..Finally, It's 5 O'clock Somwhere.
