John T. Vassallo's Obituary
John T. Vassallo, Sr. age 79, of Lewes, DE, formerly of Brandywine, MD. passed away on Sunday, August 04, 2013 at, the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford, DE. He was born in Leonardtown, MD, on March 9, 1934 , Mr. Vassallo served as chief in the mechanical section of St. Elizabeth Hospital in Washington, D.C. for 38 years prior to retirement. He was a life member of the VFW in Milton, DE, the American Legion in Seaford, DE. and had served in the United States Navy. He was predeceased by his adoptive parents, Anthony and Mabel Vassallo who were from Camp Springs Maryland.
He is survived by his wife Marie G. (Clarke) Vassallo; his son John T. Vassallo, Jr. and wife Kathryn of Deale, MD; his daughter , Anna Marie Mayo and husband Larry of Lewes, DE; his sister Celeste Dowell of Lake Havasu, Arizona; three grandchildren, Stephanie Heller and husband Brian and Victoria McCann and husband Richard all of Deale,Md and , Leona Delli and husband Giorgio of Melbourne, Fl.; great granddaughter Anna M. Delli of Melbourne, FL and soon to be great grandson Stewie.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday Aug. 7, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE where friends may visit on Tuesday evening from 7-9 PM at the funeral home.
Burial will follow the services at Henlopen Memorial Park, 28787 Lockerman Road, Milton, DE.
