John Gregory Rosewag's Obituary
John Rosewag, age 75, passed away after a brief illness on January 8, 2026.
He was born in Cheverly, Maryland, to Wingrove and Mary Rosewag on May 29, 1950.
John graduated from High Point High School and spent some time in college before dedicating himself to the School of Life and a long career in the restaurant business. In 1972 he married his sweetheart, Martha, and together they built a life in Beltsville before relocating to Rome, New York, in 1996.
John loved his family, his friends, and his animals — though not necessarily in that order, depending on the day. He was known for his storytelling, his sharp sense of humor, his cooking, and his excellent hugs.
John is reunited with his parents and his beloved Marf.
He is survived by his sister, Eileen (Joe) Iaconangelo; his daughter, Sheryl (Kevin) Mellett; and many friends.
A private interment will be held at a later date.
