John M. Reffner's Obituary
John Michael Reffner, age 74, of Lewes, DE passed away at his home on Wednesday, June 20, 2018. He was born on September 30, 1943 in Altoona, PA, son of the late John M. Reffner and Winifred Eckels Merten.
Mr. Reffner graduated from Altoona Area High School, Class of 1961. He received his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Reffner made his career as a successful realtor in Altoona for Coldwell Banker and Town & Country Real Estate for many years, until 2016. He most recently worked for Berkshire Hathaway, Gallo Realty in Lewes. Mr. Reffner was very active with the Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art, a community art museum in Altoona. He was a loving husband, brother, uncle and friend who will be dearly missed.
Mr. Reffner is survived by his husband, Barry Gearhart; his brother, Timothy Reffner and his wife Carole; his nephew, Josh Reffner; his niece, Robyn England; his step children: Brian Gearhart and his wife Natalie and Stacey Goughnour and her husband John; and his step grandchildren: Caleb, Ella, Alli, and Patrick.
Interment will be held privately at Alto Rest Cemetery in, Altoona, PA.
