John "Jack" P. Joseph's Obituary
John "Jack" P. Joseph, age 84, of Lewes, DE, passed away Thursday, January 8, 2009, at Harbor Healthcare & Rehab. Center in Lewes.
Mr. Joseph was born in Philadelphia, PA on June 29, 1924, the son of the late Preston and Meta (Green) Joseph. He enjoyed a 40 year career as a River Pilot for the Pilots Association for the Bay and River Delaware. He was a former President of the State Pilot Commission and a former Board of Education Member for the Lewes Public School District.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Eleanor, and his sister Mary Louise Ingram. He is survived by his sister Elizabeth J. Lynch of Lewes; three nephews, George T. Lynch III of Milton, DE, Douglas J. Lynch of Wilmington, DE and William S. Ingram III of Virginia Beach, VA; and one niece, Mary Prentice Yff of Estero Beach, FL.
A Graveside Service will be held Monday, January 12, 2009 at 1:00 PM at Lewes Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 133 Kings Highway, Lewes with the Rev. Harry Hughes officiating for family and friends. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Lewes, DE.
