I grew up at Silverbrook Church, where "little Johnny McNemar" was always around. I am several years older so our paths didn't cross often. I now attend Hockessin UMC where he and Donna visited a few times. -- and at a couple of memorial services at Aldersgate.
I didn't realize he had gone to be with the angels until I saw his birthday notice on FB. My condolences to all of the McNemar family. I knew him to be a good guy!

So sorry to hear of John's passing. He was a great guy and Ron & I enjoyed the times at Silverbrook when we had the family dinners on Sunday nights with the young families. RIP Johnny. Ron & Cathy White

To Donna, the kids, grands, Shirley, Tommy and Eloise: We were saddened and shocked at word of "cousin Johnny's" passing. As I read these memories and condolences below the words "kind" "good" "nice guy" "great friend" kept appearing. And that is who he was. Also a comedian who always made others laugh. We lived with the 4 of you (brother & sisters) for a year growing up in Canby Park...what a crowded house it was with Aunt Dottie packing all of our school lunches...even taking orders. John was a great guy I didn’t see him much but when we got together it was fun he will be missed very much.
"Johnny" was my first friend growing up in Canby Park. I'll always remember his pirate themed birthday party! Even then he was always a kind and good boy, and he grew up to be a kind and good man. Rest in peace buddy. My sincere condolences to your family. David Rosenberg
John was truly a great friend. We worked together at Beebe Healthcare and created a great friendship. We would meet in the cafeteria at work for lunch everyday. When we retired we continued to meet every few weeks for lunch with other guys from work. He was kind, caring and a friend that I will miss. May the Lord comfort and care for you at this time.
John was a great supporter of both the men's and women's basketball teams at Wesley College. It was always nice to look into the stands and seeing John at home games as well as many away games. Over the years John became a very good friend. He was a great man and his absence will be felt by all of those who came to know and love him.
