Dear McKays --
On this anniversary of John's death, I am sending you my warmest hugs. Memories abound. My family lived next door to the McKays for many years. We shared the same driveway, turn left at the end of the driveway to my house and turn right to the McKays. Our back doors were across from each other. The McKays moved to West Farms. I can't remember how old I was then, but we visited them there for a few years before we moved to New Jersey. Both our fathers worked for DuPont. Both worked on the Manhattan Project, but they probably didn't know it at the time -- at least neither knew what the other was working on. I will always remember Jack as being such a kind and handsome man, with a very steady, soft voice. We visited the McKays at their beautiful house on the beach in Lewes, DE, often when we were children and later when we were on home leave from living in Hong Kong in the early 60s. I was their son John's age, and was so terribly sad to learn of his passing only a few years ago. I was happy to visit with Jim when I was visiting other friends in Akron, Ohio. The McKays will always be a part of my family of best friends. Sending love and light.
xoxo
