John James Marsh's Obituary
John James Marsh, 95, of Lewes, DE passed away peacefully on Tuesday November 18, 2008 at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, DE. He was born October 28, 1913, in Willards, MD, son of the late Clarence and Ella (Beauchamp) Marsh.
Over the years Mr. Marsh's career spanned from being the 1st letter carrier in the Town of Rehoboth Beach to being involved in many development projects including the Indian River Yacht Basin, Sea Air Mobile City, Camelot Park, Dewey Beach Yacht Basin, South Shore Yacht Basin and Delmarva Marine at Angola. He served with the U.S. Coast Guard and was a member of the Rehoboth Beach American Legion. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and member of the Jefferson Lodge #15 where he received a 50 Year Mason Award in 1998. He was also a member for over 50 years of the Rehoboth Beach Lions Club; a member of the Kent-Sussex Scottish Rite; Tall Cedars of Lebanon; AOPA - Airplane owners Pilots Association and the Epworth United Methodist Church, Rehoboth Beach, DE.
He is survived by his wife of 74 years this Dec. 27th. , Kathryn (Hudson) Marsh; a son John Hudson Marsh and his companion Arlene Bush of Wachapreague, VA; and a brother William R. Marsh of Seminole, FL.
Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, November 23, 2008 at 2:00 PM at the Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE where friends may call on hour prior to services. The Rev. Dr. Jonathan Baker will be officiating. Interment will follow at Epworth Methodist Cemetery in Rehoboth Beach, DE.
