Today someone asked me "If you were to tell one person "Thank You" for helping me become the person I am today, who would it be and what did they do?" I immediately answered John Marchetti, and decided I needed to reach out and tell him that in person. I'm sorry i missed the opportunity to do so. To Angel and his kids, thank you for sharing him with those of us who counted John as a friend. For me he was also a mentor when i was a young upstart in EM at DOE. He took me under his wing, coached me to navigate the DOE politics and challenged me to speak my mind no matter how unpopular my ideas might be. His lessons were invaluable and his friendship priceless.

I have very fond memories of Uncle John as a child. He always seemed larger than life, especially compared to our dad. He would give us a huge bear hug and say, "Hi Baby!!" He was a great friend to my father for many, many years. He will be truly blessed. Angel, Nicky and Chris you are in my prayers.

John and I became close friends during my time with the Lewes Mended Hearts Chapter. He and I had many telephone conversations regarding sports, politics and the visitation program he managed so professionally over many years. I will miss our conversations, emails and other talks about the visitation program. My sincere feelings for the loss the family has suffered by the passing of this wonderful man.

I was a classmate at St Gabriel's Grade School and Archbishop John Carroll High School. When we reconnected here in Delaware, John gave me inspiration and encouragement as a cancer survivor. John was always there and we had great times with out wives eating dinner at the Big Fish and talking about our life. He will always be remembered, missed and loved. God with you.
