John B. Lazzari's Obituary
John B. Lazzari III of Lewes, Delaware died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on December 21, 2022. He was the beloved husband of Patricia McElligott Lazzari.
Born in NYC on May 16, 1941, John was the son of the late John B. Lazzari II and Gertrude (Byrne) Lazzari. He graduated from Fordham Preparatory School ‘59 and Fordham University ‘63 in New York and received his master’s degree from Syracuse University.
John loved to travel the world. He also was a wonderful cook - many times just making up the recipes as he went along! John was a kind, gracious, and generous friend to all whom he met. His unique sense of humor was enjoyed by all. Involved in many aspects of his faith-filled life, John was a Fourth Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus, a Eucharistic Minister, and served on many social concern ministries.
Alongside his devotion to God, John was devoted to his loving family. He is survived by his two sons: John B. Lazzari IV (Sue) of Midland Park, NJ, and Louis Michael Lazzari (Angela) of New Providence, NJ; his five grandchildren: John B. Lazzari V, Patrick Lazzari, Michael Lazzari, Isabella Lazzari, and Nicholas Lazzari; his two sisters: Mary Regina Niehaus (Richard) of Arlington, VA, and Ann Marie Beccue (Clay) of Barrington, RI and their children, Christina Kunec (Robert) and David Beccue (Lauren). He is also survived by his former wife Margaret Galgano Lazzari of Old Greenwich, CT.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 AT 10:00 AM, at St Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, 152 Tulip Drive, Lewes, DE, with Mass of Christian Burial immediately following at 11:00 AM.
