John W. Kerr's Obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of John W. Kerr, 76, of Bridgeville, Delaware, formerly of Kingston, Pennsylvania, who left us on March 18, 2025. John was a beloved father, husband, son, brother, friend, co-worker, etc., whose presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Born on July 18, 1948, in Kingston, Pennsylvania, John was known for his kindness, generosity, sense of humor, and the deep passion he had for his family. He worked in various roles throughout his life, including as a cutter in the garment industry, an insurance adjuster, a banquet bartender, and a driver for both Enterprise and Hertich.
Throughout his life, John made a lasting impact on those around him with his charm, wit, humor and sarcasm. He was a people person who could connect with anyone and, his memory will be cherished through the many lives he touched and the enduring love of his family and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, Coryell and Bertha Kerr, sister Karen Klotz, son Kevin Kerr and daughter Kelly Kerr.
John is survived by his wife, Linda Kerr (Sorber), sister-in-law Sister Mary Irene Sorber, brother Richard Kerr (Pat), daughters Kris Neville (Keith), Kim Mahl (Jeff), Kathy Lombardi, and sons Keith (Jennifer), Ken Kerr, Karl (Deirdre) Kerr and his 2 nieces Wendy Ferrara (Joe) and Amy Gozikowski (Dave) and 15 grandchildren Brendon, Karen, Abby, Jon, Matthew, Zach, Gabby, Ella, Ava, Addison, Kyle, Korey, Grant, Norah, Olivia.
A visitation will be held on Monday, March 24, 2025, where friends and family are welcome, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM, and on Tuesday March, 25, 2025, from 10:00 - 11:00 AM, at the Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium Hardesty Chapel, in Bridgeville, 202 Laws Street. A memorial service will immediately follow visitation on Tuesday at 11:00 AM, with Rev. Paul Kuzhimannil Matthew officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in John's memory to Ronald McDonald House of Delaware, or Delaware Hospice of Milford, DE.
