While my uncle and I were sanding along side his van, Jack felt it was necessary to explain how dirt it was by claiming that the dirt is what keeps the paint in good shape, and if he were to wash it, the van would start rusting.

David,
After all these years I came across my Uncle Jacks obituary. It never occurred to me to look.
I'm sorry my family thought it was important to hide things.
I loved my Uncle very much.
I hope you're doing well.

Uncle Jack, what good memories of our talks on the phone about your childhood. You were always so humorous and so good natured. I will truly miss you. Your niece, Bridget Foreman Beck
My life is richer because of knowing Jack and David. It was 40 years ago when I traveled to Lewes on weekends to be with Gary Soulsman and the rest of the gang. Those invitations for dinner above the antique store was always special. I remember one year having Thanksgiving dinner and being served duck not turkey. It was my first break from that tradition! The case of a favorite wine was absolutely the best wedding present when Gary and I got married in 1981! Warmest memories of dear Jack. Take care David.

Stan and I first met Jack when we bought our place in Eagles Landing in 1989. We loved being in Jack's company because of the stories he would share about his life. Being from the D.C. area, I (Pat) loved hearing about his experiences when he taught at Howard University and Marjorie Webster College in Washington, D.C. We would try to catch Jack at "Just Looking" at times just to see him, even if it was just for a few minutes. Jack had a very kind heart and he will be missed.
My deepest sympathy to David, our families have been with each other for years! Jack was a lovely person and I know my mother, Peggy Sherow will take this hard when I tell her tonight.
Prayers to all family members and to David we love you, you are in our hearts always.
