John T. Gillen's Obituary
John T. "Jack" Gillen, age 78 of Lewes, DE and formerly of Medford Lakes, NJ, passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer on Monday, October 25, 2021, at Delaware Hospice, in Milford, DE. He was born on January 27, 1943, in Philadelphia, PA, son of the late John and Katherine (McFarland) Gillen.
Mr. Gillen graduated from the university of Richmond. Mr. Gillen worked as a regional sales manager in the wine and spirits business in the New York City, NY.
In his spare time, Mr. Gillen loved to cook and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He went to college on a football scholarship, and he loved playing football, rugby, golf, and tennis. Mr. Gillen was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Gillen was predeceased by his son, Brendan Gillen. He is survived by his loving wife, Faye Parker-Gillen of Lewes, DE; his son, John E. Gillen (Jessica) of Berlin, NJ; his daughter, Kerra Rohm (Chuck) to whom he was a loving and devoted father; his sister, Mary Kay Baker of Medford, NJ; his beloved grandchildren: Lily and RhyAnn Gillen; John "Jackie" Gillen; Shana and Tyler Casey; Nicole DiVietro, Anthony and Gretchen DiVietro; and his 5 great grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date in New Jersey.
