John Francis Flynn's Obituary
John Francis Flynn, lovingly known as Jack, passed away at the age of 87. He was born at home in North Easton, Massachusetts, the son of the late William Leo Flynn and Mary Elizabeth Flynn.
After graduating from Coyle Catholic High School, Jack enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he served in Spain, Great Britain, and many other places around the world. He also completed a four-year tour in California that served as a base for missions to the south of Vietnam.
Jack was one of eight children and is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Melissa; his brother James; his sisters Alyce, Sheila, and Susan; his grandson John; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews who loved him dearly.
In addition to his parents, Jack was predeceased by his brother William, his sisters Marylou and Karen, and his beloved daughter, Deven.
Jack loved his God and his country—he was a true patriot. A hard worker throughout his life, he often held two jobs to provide for his family. He was proud of his Irish heritage, loved to laugh, and would greet you with a smile and a twinkle in his blue eyes.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Edmond’s Catholic Church, 401 King Charles Avenue, Rehoboth Beach, at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 11, 2025.
A chapel committal will follow at the Delaware Veterans Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, at 1:00 PM.
