John A. Engler's Obituary
John A. Engler, DDS, age 82, of Dagsboro, DE, passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2009, at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes, DE. He was born July 16, 1926 in Wilkes Barre, PA, son of the late George and Arlene (Groff) Engler.
Dr. Engler graduated from Bucknell University and Temple University School of Denistry. Following completion of his education, he taught for two years at Temple University Radiology Department. He began his dental practice in Hamilton Square, NJ where he was a member of the Masonic Gothic Fraternal Lodge #270 and the Black Rock Gun Club, Plainsboro, NJ. After relocating to Delaware in 2002, he joined the Indian River Senior Citizen Golf Group. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a World War II veteran.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Mary Ellen (Henry) Engler; two daughters, Lynn Engler Bezpalko, D.O. and her husband Orest Bezpalko, D.O. of Mt. Laurel, NJ and Diane Engler and her husband Christian Gay of Ferndale, PA; a son, John A. Engler, Jr. and his wife Bridgitte of Hamilton Square, NJ; four grandchildren, Orysia Bezpalko of Mt. Laurel and Nicole Engler, Christie Engler and Erika Engler all of Hamilton Square; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Arline Engler Worth and Ethel Mae Engler; and a brother William O. Engler.
