John F. Breen's Obituary
John F. Breen, age 87, of Georgetown, DE, passed away on Monday, January 5, 2009 at Lofland Life Care in Seaford, DE. He was born October 24, 1921, in Washington, DC, the son of the late William and Catherine (O'Brien) Breen.
Mr. Breen and his wife retired and moved to Delaware from Oxon Hill, MD 1984 after 20 years of employment as a machinist with the U.S. Department of Navy, Civil Services. Prior to this position , he was employed by United Airlines for 23 years as a machinist. He was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Georgetown, DE: former member of St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Society in Washington, DC, and a former member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Oxon Hill, MD. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus in Seaford, DE.
Mr. Breen is survived by his wife Virginia "Jeannie" (Bean) Breen; daughter, Marleen Dubbs and her husband Dennis of Seaford, DE; son, William G. Breen II and his wife Monika of Naples, FL; step-daughter, Kathleen J. Webster and her husband Paul Webster, Sr. of Bryantown, MD; five grandchildren: Paul C. Webster, Jr. of Bryantown, MD, Sean Breen of Tallahassee, FL, Johannes Breen of Naples, FL, and Melany and Kevin Dubbs, both of Seaford, DE; sister, Lucille Hostetter of New Castle, VA.
Friends may call on Thursday, January 8, 2009 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Dodd-Carey Chapel, 307 N. Bedford Street, Georgetown, DE. Graveside services will be held Monday, January 12, 2009 at 10:30 AM at Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton, Maryland.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Indian River Senior Center, Inc., 322A Wilson Highway, Millsboro, DE 19966.
