Joanne Price's Obituary
Joanne Ruth Linduska Price died on December 13, 2024. She was born in Missoula, Montana, on May 17, 1937, and was the daughter of the late Dr. Joseph P. Linduska and Lilian H. Linduska. Joanne was a graduate of Laurel High School in Laurel, Maryland, and she attended and graduated from the University of Maryland with a degree in elementary education. While at the University of Maryland, she was a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority.
Upon completing her education, she taught kindergarten for several years in Wilmington, Delaware. After the birth of her two children, she taught kindergarten and second grade in the Cape Henlopen School District, Lewes, Delaware. During her children’s youth, she volunteered and was active in scouting and Little League. Later in life, after her children were grown, she volunteered at Beebe Hospital in Lewes, DE, and at the New Life Thrift Shop in Lewes, DE. Joanne enjoyed gardening, volunteering, and crafting. She attended St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Lewes, DE.
Joanne is survived by her two children and their spouses, Kent S. Price (Mary Elizabeth) of Tobaccoville, North Carolina, and Cheryl P. Nelson (Michael) of Lewes, Delaware. She is also survived by her grandchildren Clayton Nelson (Katelyn) and Chase Nelson (Taylor), and a great-granddaughter, Lainey. Additionally, she is survived by her brother Dr. James J. Linduska (Barbara, deceased) of Salisbury, Maryland, and by her cousins who live in Montana.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Joanne’s memory to the Joseph and Lilian Linduska Opportunity Fund, University of Montana Foundation, P.O. Box 7159, Missoula, MT 59807, or to the Tunnell Cancer Center, 18947 John J. Williams Highway, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971.
A Memorial service will be held on December 23 at 11:00 AM at St Peter’s Episcopal Church 200 2nd St., Lewes, DE.
