Joanne M. Kane's Obituary
Joanne M. Kane, 66, of Rehoboth Beach, formerly of Newark, DE went to attend her "Welcome Home Party" in Heaven's beautiful garden, to celebrate being born to eternal life, with our Lord and departed loved ones, Thursday, August 7, 2008.
She was born and raised in Wilmington, DE, daughter of the late Isaia Veltre and Mary Prosceno Veltre. She graduated from Wilmington High School in 1959. Joanne was a realtor for over 36 years, with Harris-Hanby, Patterson-Schwartz and Remax, and loved helping people find their perfect home. She enjoyed good times with close friends and family, creative home projects, cooking, gardening, movies, shopping, charity events and loved dancing to the oldies. She is very much loved, will be dearly missed, leaves behind many happy, cherished memories, and was the light of many lives.
Joanne is survived by her daughter, Lisa Kane-Robbins, step-son Michael Wirtschafter, step-daughter-in-law Barbara Wirtschafter, former spouse Thomas E. Kane, sisters Concetta Blunt and Anna Nash, brothers John Veltre and Francis Veltre, many neices and nephews and Sadie, her dear furry friend. Joanne was predeceased by her former spouse Henry Wirtschafter, sisters Yolanda Ciccone, Josephine Pivinski and Elizabeth Pivinski, brother Anthony Veltre and Baxter, her faithful, furry companion. She will be honored with a Memorial Mass, Wednesday, August 20, 2008, 1:00 PM at St. Edmond's Church, King Charles and Laurel Streets, Rehoboth Beach, DE where friends may call beginning at 12:30 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to DE Hospice, 100 Patriot's Way, Milford, DE 19963 or Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, 5005 LBJ Freeway, Dallas, TX 75244.
