Joanne Mary Glass' Obituary
Joanne Mary Glass, age 81, of Ocean View, DE, passed away at home on Wednesday, July 5, 2023. She was born on November 16, 1941, in Reading, PA, daughter of the late Walter F. and Anna (Guzowski) Wawrzyniak.
Mrs. Glass married the love of her life, Kenneth L. Glass, and the two would spend forty-four years together, creating memories and raising their family. She enjoyed a lengthy career as a medical device manufacturer for Alcon. retiring after many dedicated years. Her hobbies were active and constructive. Mrs. Glass enjoyed reading and could often be found curled up with a good book. A Philadelphian at heart, she remained a loyal and avid Philly sports fan, in particular. the Eagles, who rewarded her steadfast dedication in 2018 with the Superbowl win. Faith was a pillar in her life, and she was a dedicated member of St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church in Bethany Beach, DE. More than anything, Mrs. Glass enjoyed the time spent with those she held most dear. She was a loving and nurturing mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. Loved by many, she will be deeply and genuinely missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Glass was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth L. Glass. She is survived by her daughters: Barbara Glass (Richard) of Ocean View, DE, Bonnie Orndorff (Shorty) of Winchester, VA, Michelle Glass (Gabe) of California, and Anita Glass of Temple, PA; her six grandchildren; her eleven great grandchildren; and her siblings: Robert Wawrzyniak (Beverly), Stanley Wawrzyniak (Sandy), and Theodore Wawrzyniak (Lauren), and sister-in-law, Phyllis (Glass) Hafer, all of Pennsylvania.
Services will be private.
