Joanna E. Lewis' Obituary
Joanna E. Lewis (Johnson), age 79, of Williamstown, NJ passed away peacefully on January 2, 2022. She was born October 27, 1942, to parents Edward Walter & Miriam Elsie Johnson.
Joanna spent her career dedicated to the restaurant industry, as she had a passion for serving others. After many years as a well-respected and loved member of the community, she retired to the beaches of Lewes, DE where she spent the remainder of her life.
Joanna was the matriarch of the Lewis family, ensuring she was involved in all aspects of her family’s lives. She had a bright, quirky personality, quick wit, and great love for her children and grandchildren. Joanna was also very fond of her cats and was known to give a home to any cat in need.
She is preceded in death by her husband, George Lewis Sr (1939-2000). Joanna is survived by her three sons: George Jr. (Patricia), Scott (Sherri) and William; her grandchildren: Nicole Hausladen (Dave), Alexandria, Benjamin and Connor Lewis; and her great grandchildren, Makayla and Harper Hausladen.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Joanna’s name to the Brandywine Valley SPCA (22918 DuPont Blvd, Georgetown, DE 19947).
