Joann Ferraro's Obituary
Joann “JoJo” J. Ferraro, age 65 of Seaford, DE and formerly of Queens, NY, passed away at her home on July 2, 2021, surrounded by her children and sisters. She was born in Queens, NY, daughter of the late Joseph and Mildred (Marino) Scudiere.
Joann was a graduate of Newtown High School, and from there she built a career as a receptionist for the NYC Marshall’s office. She married the love of her life, Len Ferraro, on April 3, 1982, at St. Bart’s Church. Joann was an active member of the PTA for over 20 years and enjoyed being involved in her children’s education and activities. She was an avid Yankees fan and loved rooting for her favorite team. Joann enjoyed watching NCIS and Little House on the Prairie, as well. She was a candy connoisseur and a mobile solitaire afficionado. Above all, Joann cherished time spent with those she held most dear, including her beloved pets, Pebbles, Hercules, Willow, and Xena. She was a loving and devoted mother, sister, aunt, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Joann was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Ferraro; her mothers-in-law: Agnes Garrett and Theresa Ferraro; her sister, Maria Wise; her sister-in-law, Elisa Ann Ferraro; and her brother-in-law, Al Milone. She is survived by her children: Anthony Ferraro, Salvatore Ferraro, and Matthew Ferraro (Brittney); her sisters: Gloria Jane Martine and Roxanne Scudiere; her sister-in-law, Paula Milone; and her nephews and nieces: Joel, Dani, Keith (Michelle), Nicole (Brian), Alexander (Kelly), Dillon (Bea), Ashley (Charlie), Katie (Steve), Daniel, Morgan, Gio, Jordan, Charlotte, and Kayla.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 8, 2021, at 3:00 PM, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Dodd-Carey Chapel, 307 N. Bedford Street, Georgetown, DE, where friends may call beginning at 2:00 PM. Interment will be private.
