Joan Schwarz's Obituary
Frederick R. Cleaver Jr., age 60, of Lewes, DE, died Thursday, July 13, 2006, at Bayhealth Center - in Milford. Mr. Cleaver was born in San Bernadino, CA. on Oct 12, 1945, son of Eleanor Donovan Cleaver and the late Frederick R. Cleaver, Sr.
He served in the U.S. Navy from 1963-1966 aboard the USS Sandoval. "Rick" was self-employed as an estate planner. He was a former member of the Odessa Volunteer Fire Company and the Lewes-Rehoboth Rotary. He was an unofficial member of the Lewes Lions Club. Rick was an active member of Bethel United Methodist Church, Lewes. He was an avid golfer. Rick was an organ donor and gave the gift of life.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Paulette (Collins) Cleaver; Three Daughters, Kelly S. Jones & husband Edward; Shannon C. Fowler & husband Robert; & Susan Shea ; a son-Frederick R. Cleaver, III & wife Cynthia; two brothers, I.G. Cleaver & wife Suzanne of Wilmington, DE & J. Christopher Cleaver & wife Lorraine of Odessa, DE; four grandchildren: Christopher M. Shea, Jr. and Elizabeth L. Shea; Caroline M. Fowler, and Alexandra L. Cleaver; a foster grandchild, Ty; and three nephews. In addition to his father, Rick was predeceased by his son-in-law Cpl. Christopher M. Shea, Jr. in 2004 and grandson Preston C. Jones in 2004.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday July 17, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. at Bethel United Methodist Church, 129 West Fourth Street, Lewes, DE with Rev. Jack Cohen officiating. A viewing will be held on Sunday evening, July 16, 2006 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE. Interment will be in Bethel Methodist Cemetery, Savannah Road, Lewes.
