Joan W. Ryder's Obituary
Joan W. Ryder, age 91, of Midlothian, TX passed away on Wednesday, January 9, 2019, at Harbor Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center, in Lewes, DE. She was born on February 12, 1927 in Springfield, MA and was the daughter of the late Robert Peverell and Winifred Mary (Wright) Warriner.
Joan was a loving wife, homemaker, and beloved mother and grandmother to her three daughters and grandchildren. She was an active member of and volunteer for her church communities in Foxboro, MA and Austin, TX, singing in the choir and participating in several women’s groups. She graduated from Lasell College and worked in the Foxboro school system when her children were older.
In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Campbell Craig Ryder. She is survived by her daughters, Melinda R. Ryder of Midlothian, TX, Diana Ryder Kaminsky and husband Steve of North Bethesda, MD and Lewes, DE, Susan Ryder Knowles and husband Ted of Lewes, DE; her sister, Marjorie Hellstein and husband Ted of Westfield, MA; six grandchildren, Andrew Schiller, Alexandra Tallman, Kaitlyn Kaminsky, Kelsey Merani, Heather Knowles, and Theodore Knowles IV; one great granddaughter, Norah Schiller; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held in Massachusetts at a later date.
