Joan M. Kilgore's Obituary
Joan Marie “Josie Cat” Kilgore, age 66 of Georgetown, DE, passed away on Sunday, November 28, 2021, at TidalHealth Nanticoke in Seaford, DE. She was born on May 18, 1955 in Delaware County, PA, daughter of the late James and Margaret Bacon.
Ms. Kilgore worked in quality control for Allen’s Family Foods, from which she retired after many dedicated years. She had many different interests and hobbies, including concerts in the park in Georgetown, taking rides on her scooter, dining out, and all kinds of computer games. Ms. Kilgore was always very independent, strong willed, and determined to be a stable example to her children and grandchildren. She cherished time spent with her loved ones above all else. Ms. Kilgore was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was loved by many and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Ms. Kilgore is survived by her sons: David A. Burlingame, Jr. (Ellen) of Bridgeville, DE and Steven E. Burlingame (Amanda) of Ridley Park, PA; her grandchildren: David Burlingame, III, Kaylee Burlingame, and Emily Snyder; her 4 great-grandchildren; her sisters: Arlene Henderson of Loves Park, IL and Margaret Ann Bacon of Hartly, DE; her brothers: James V. Bacon, Jr. of West Palm Beach, FL and John Bacon of Dover, DE; her 5 nieces and 4 nephews; and her beloved feline companion, Snowball.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2021, at 3:00 PM, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Dodd-Carey Chapel, 307 N. Bedford Street, Georgetown, DE, where friends may call beginning at 2:00 PM. Interment will be held at a later date.
