Joan Lee Charnock's Obituary
Joan Lee Charnock, age 83, of Rehoboth Beach, DE passed away on Friday, February 06, 2015, at Beebe Healthcare, in Lewes, DE. She was born Thursday, January 21, 1932 in Benwood, WV, daughter of the late Joseph and Leah (McFarland) Brendy.
Mrs. Charnock was a graduate of Union High School in Benwood, WV. She served her country proudly with the Women's Army Corp from 1950-1952. Mrs. Charnock enjoyed a longtime career and retired from Columbia Medical Plan in Columbia, MD, as a Supervisor. She was an avid supporter of animal shelters both locally and nationally.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Charnock was preceded in death by her husband M. C. Charnock and a grandson, Michael Hudgins. She is survived by her three daughters, Bonnie Charnock of Milton, DE; Leah Charnock of Rehoboth Beach, DE; Sally Charnock of Portsmouth, VA; three sons, James Charnock and his wife Jane of Arbutus, MD; Michael Charnock of Elkridge, MD; Thomas Charnock of Capitol Heights, MD and one granddaughter, Katie and two sisters, Cathy Marin of Erie, OH and Marcia Mercer of Coshocton, OH.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM on Wednesday, February 11, 2015, at St. Edmond Catholic Church, 409 King Charles Avenue, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971, where friends may call beginning at 10 AM. Interment with Military Honors will be at 1 PM at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE 19966.
