Joan A. Batchelor's Obituary
Joan A. (Lang) Batchelor, age 70, of Georgetown, DE, passed away peacefully at her residence on Wednesday, June 3, 2009. She was born September 27, 1938 in Baltimore, MD, daughter of the late George and Catherine (Rumpf) Lang.
Mrs. Batchelor worked for A&P Food Stores in the Baltimore area for 43 years retiring from the Accounting Department in 2003. She relocated to Georgetown six years ago with her husband and worked for Super Fresh for five years until her health dictated her resignation. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be missed by her family and many friends.
She is survived by her husband Ralph E. Batchelor, Sr.; two sons, Ralph E. Batchelor, Jr. of Bethel, DE and James E. Batchelor of Lanexa, VA; four step-grandchildren; and one step-great-granddaughter; and a brother, Robert Scheufele of Baltimore, MD.
Memorial Services will be held on Saturday June 13, 2009 at 4 PM at the Community Lutheran Church, Omar Road, Frankford, DE Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society, PO BOX 163, Salisbury, MD 21803-0163.
