Jill Mae Stevens' Obituary
Jill Cowan Stevens, a cherished individual whose memory continues to shine brightly in the hearts of many. Born on December 5, 1964, in Jacksonville, Florida, Jill lived a life marked by compassion and kindness before passing away in Lewes, Delaware, on March 11, 2024.
A graduate of Cape Henlopen High School, class of '82, Jill's commitment to nurturing young minds led her to a fulfilling career as a special education teacher for sixteen years. Her passion for education and the well-being of her students left an indelible mark on the community.
Jill's love knew no bounds, especially when it came to her family. She is survived by her daughter Sarah, her sister Michelle, her brother Billy, her nieces Alex and Maggie, her nephews Pierson, Josh, and James, two great-nephews, and three great-nieces. A host of cousins and innumerable friends also feel the profound loss of Jill's passing. She was predeceased by her loving parents Marlys and Bill Cowan, and her aunts Vernice and Frances Coffin.
Those who knew Jill will fondly remember her for the loving, kind, and generous spirit she was. Her interests were simple yet profound—spending quality time with her girls, enjoying days on the Mav porch, basking in beach days, and cherishing moments with friends.
Jill's warm presence will be profoundly missed, yet her spirit will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her.
