Jesse Paul Stasi's Obituary
Jesse Paul Stasi, age 33, of Lewes, DE passed away suddenly without warning on Thursday, January 15, 2015 at his home from unknown causes. He was born on May 10, 1981 in Rehoboth, New Mexico, and lived in the Navajo Nation, prior to moving to Delaware. He is the son of Bruce W. Stasi of Crisfield, MD and Margaret Wright-Stasi of Lewes, DE.
A man with unlimited potential, Jesse was a 1999 graduate of Sussex Central High School and attended the University of Delaware in Newark for two years. Jesse then embarked on a career in the culinary arts, working in various capacities for a number of local restaurants. His latest endeavor started in 2006 when he joined the Kindle Restaurant Family where he was Sous Chef.
Jesse appreciated the outdoors, hiking frequently with his faithful canine companions, Duncan and Angus, by his side, along with exploring the world over. When opportunities arose, he traveled with family and friends, enjoying culture and cuisines throughout the world. He had a constant thirst for knowledge and was a life-long student of history. He was a wealth of information when it came to historical facts. Jesse was also an avid reader and an accomplished Trivia Buff. His trivia team, "Fear the Beard," won numerous contests locally. With the passing of the appointed captain, the team has decided to retire that name.
Jesse was an outgoing, spirited jokester who never met a stranger. His friends regarded him as the most genuine person that they had ever met. He was loved by his co-workers and enjoyed hosting impromptu gatherings where he would share his great homebrews and food. Jesse always had a zest for life and never saw the glass half empty. He will be greatly missed by all those whose lives were touched by his friendship and love. In the words of the Navajo, he is now “adin”, no longer here, but forever in our hearts.
In addition to his parents Jesse is survived by his brother, Sean Stasi who is stationed in Germany with the US Army; his sister, Erin Stasi of Lewes, DE; seven uncles, Harry Wright and his wife Paula of Wake Forest, NC; John Wright and his wife Maureen of Hendersonville, TN; Stephen Wright and his wife Jolene of Miami, OK; Thomas Wright and Darlene of Shenandoah, IA; Mark Wright and his wife Lisa of Huntingtown, MD; James Wright of Nassau, DE and Gary Stasi and his wife Arlen of Sydney, Australia; one aunt, Kelli Slater and her husband John of Coffs Harbour, Australia, along with numerous cool cousins and dear friends.
Jesse was predeceased by his grandparents, Harry E. and Margaret Wright of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware and Paolo Stasi and Nancy Tonkin of New South Wales, Australia.
A Celebration of Jess's Life will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE where friends may call beginning at 9:30 AM.
