I remember Jerry being so friendly and kind to me at my first Nationals. She put me at ease, and made me feel welcome and included. She had a larger than life warm and fun presence that I will never forget. My heartfelt condolences to all those missing her here. Love, Diana Olinger
Jerry was a big part of waterskiing in Virginia. She was there at my first tournament as a kid and a big supporter of me all through my waterskiing career. I still miss her yelling out from the boat as a judge "Honey you are such a super skier that was just perfect. Now just get on it this next pass" with Love James Hancock
My Dear Friend Jerry, I have know Jerry for over 35 yrs and what wonderful years they were to have Jerry in our lives. She was a coach, mentor, Redskins fan and made the best mac&cheese I’ve ever had. In all these years I never once heard Jerry make a negative comment about another person and I deeply respected her. I send my deepest sympathies to her Wife Leslie, daughter Kim, grandchildren and all of her family members. Please know that Jerry made a difference in so many lives of those that knew her. I know I will never forget Jerry and all the joy she brought into my life.

Jerry was one of the original owners of Lake Holly in Sparta Virginia. When she would come over to you and put her arm around your shoulder and say Honey,.... you knew she had a job for you and you knew you wouldn't turn her down. We will miss Jerry. Jerry Stansberry was a dear friend to many of us beginner competition skier families. She was there for many of our son Eric’s competitions. Always smiling and hugging us every time we saw her. She was at the first ever Sparta Water Ski Championship at Lohrs’ Lake 6/15/2002. She handed out the awards to all the children. We all loved her and was always there at the Va Lake Tournaments to coordinate, judge, train and assist . We loved her and she’ll surely be missed by all that knew her. She was a pioneer of competitive water skiing here in Virginia. Her dedication & contributions toward the sport we love were second to none. Our appreciation & gratitude for her for what she accomplished in our water ski community. Our prayers go out to all her family and friends.
