Jeffrey Joseph Voesack's Obituary
Jeffrey Joseph Voeseck, known fondly as "Jeff," of Lewes, Delaware, passed away peacefully at the hospital on June 17, 2025, at the age of 65, surrounded by his loving family and friends.
Born on July 9, 1959, in Queens, New York, Jeff was the cherished son of Joseph and Nancy (Burghardt) Voeseck. He earned an associate degree in Animal Science from Farmingville State College in New York.
Jeff shared a devoted and joyful 47-year marriage with his beloved husband, Robert H. Smith, MD. Together, they built a life full of love, creativity, and shared dreams.
Jeff began his professional career in food service management in 1988, overseeing cafeterias in various small and large businesses throughout New York City. In 1997, he left that career path to pursue his passion and opened Long Island Treasures, a business specializing in collectibles—particularly Christmas and holiday ornaments. The company thrived through mail order and trade shows, becoming a fixture in the collector community. Jeff was also the writer and publisher of The Christmas Times, a beloved newsletter among enthusiasts. As technology evolved, Long Island Treasures transitioned into a successful online store.
In retirement, Jeff embraced new creative ventures, writing and publishing two illustrated children’s books: Ollie, the Dog No One Wanted and Ollie’s Camping Trip. He also enjoyed collecting gemstones and had a deep appreciation for music.
Jeff was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Gregory Voesack. He is survived by his loving husband, Robert H. Smith; his sister, Laura DeVito; nephews Ray Voesack and Brian Smith; nieces Pamela Voesack and Jessica Ferguson; and many adored great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Jeff’s memory to The Trevor Project at https://www.thetrevorproject.org/
Jeff will be remembered for his warmth, creativity, and enduring love for those around him. His legacy lives on in the stories he told, the traditions he cherished, and the lives he touched.
