Jeffrey H. Metzger's Obituary
Jeffrey Howard Metzger, 57, of Bridgeville, Delaware, passed away peacefully at home on June 12, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on July 17, 1967, in Baltimore, Maryland, Jeffrey was the son of Joseph and Caroline (Sparklin) Metzger. After graduating from high school, Jeffrey dedicated his career to the electrical trade and later retired as a skilled and respected electrician. A man of deep faith, Jeffrey was a devoted member of the Life Center Church, where his presence and spirit touched many.
Jeffrey was a loving husband to Susan Palmer, with whom he shared a life of devotion, family, and faith. He will be remembered for his warm heart, steady hands, and unwavering support for those he loved.
He is survived by his father, Joseph Metzger; his beloved wife, Susan Palmer; his children: Geoffrey (Cody) Metzger, Kyle Metzger, Brittanee Walters, Kaylee Metzger, Daniel Palmer, and Matthew (Katherine O'leary) Palmer, ; his brothers Bryan (Michele) Metzger and John (Sue) Metzger; and twelve cherished grandchildren: Jack Metzger, Lukas Metzger, Erik Metzger, Karl Metzger, Damien Smith, Emma Metzger, Katherine Walters, Henry Walters, Estella-Mae Walters, Maria Walters, Gary Pope IV, and Abigail Palmer. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews: James Metzger, Joshua Metzger, Megan Metzger, Jacob Metzger, Stephanie Stevens, and Helen Metzger, as well as great-nephews Joey and Vincent.
Jeffrey was preceded in death by his mother, Caroline Metzger, and his nephew, Jeremy Metzger.
A funeral service to celebrate Jeffrey’s life will be held on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at 1:00 PM, at Hickory Ridge Church, 12237 Sussex Highway, Greenwood, DE 19950.
